Social & Aesthetic Username Generators

Find a handle that actually feels like you. These generators spin up soft, aesthetic and on-vibe usernames for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and anywhere else you post — free, instant and unlimited.

Choosing a handle you can actually keep on every app

A username is the one part of a profile you cannot quietly test and revise. It sits in your URL, in every mention, and in the search box people use to find you again six months later. So the useful question is not which name sounds best today — it is which name is still available, still legible and still yours across every app you are likely to join.

The tightest cap decides the handle

X allows 15 characters and nothing but letters, numbers and underscores. Instagram allows 30 and accepts periods. TikTok sits between them at 24. If you want one handle everywhere, you are really designing to X's limit, because it is the strictest rule in the set — so test your shortlist there first and claim the rest afterwards. Working the other way round, falling for a 22-character Instagram handle and only then discovering it cannot exist on X, is the most common route to running three different names and no consistent identity.

Not every rename is reversible

Reddit is the outlier: usernames are permanent, and the only way to a different one is a new account that starts from zero. Snapchat added username changes in 2022 but allows roughly one a year. TikTok permits a change every 30 days. Instagram lets you change as often as you like, but the handle you release goes straight back into the pool and can be taken within minutes. The order you register in matters more than it looks: claim your name on the platforms that never let go before you spend a week deliberating on the ones that do.

Threads is not a second chance at Instagram

Threads accounts are created from an Instagram login and inherit that account's username, so there is no separate Threads handle to choose and nothing to generate for it. Change one and the other changes with it. In practice this means the Instagram generator is also the Threads generator, and that Instagram carries more weight in the decision than its own user count suggests — you are picking a name for two apps at once, one of which you may not have joined yet.

Periods and underscores are not interchangeable

An underscore vanishes into the underline whenever a handle is rendered as a link, which is why underscore names get misread, mistyped and mangled when someone repeats them aloud. A period reads more cleanly but is forbidden outright on X, and on Instagram it cannot start or end the handle. Trailing numbers carry a signal of their own: a handle ending in 07 reads as a name that was already taken. If a separator feels necessary, the most portable answer is none at all — a two-word compound that still parses on sight.
