Riot IDs: name plus tagline
Valorant does not use standalone usernames. Your identity is a Riot ID — a display name and a hashtag tagline — and the two work together.

The tagline changes the whole game
Because uniqueness lives in the name-plus-tagline combination, you are not competing for the display name itself — two players can share a name entirely as long as the taglines differ.
